We would like to thank Family Plumbing and Heating for being our Knock Out sponsor.

Regina's Lonsdale Boxing Club will host a fundraising event next month, to raise funds in support of mental health programs for young people in our community. The Fight for Tomorrow event will be held on September 25 at the Lonsdale Club, in support of the newly-formed In Your Corner charity. Our Knock Out sponsor is Family Plumbing & Heating.

In Your Corner has been established to help young people struggling with mental health issues access existing programs and services in the community. The message of "it's okay to not be okay" will be delivered to teens and young adults through a variety of methods, including in-person presentations at schools.

"Many of us have been impacted by teen suicide," said Lonsdale Club President Frank Fiacco. "We know there are resources in place in the community. Our mission is to connect young people who are struggling with those resources. We also want to help address the stigma still associated with mental health, by helping young people understand there is absolutely no shame in asking for help when you need it."

The Fight for Tomorrow card will feature seven bouts, including a main event featuring two well-known local radio personalities, Michael "Ballsy" Ball (104.9 the Wolf) and Mark Johnston (Play 92 FM). Several other local celebrities will take part, including Mayor Sandra Masters, Regina Walsh Acres MLA Derek Myers, Police Chief Evan Bray and AGT Foods CEO Murad Al-Katib, who will serve as judges for the main event. Former Regina Ram and professional wrestler Wavell Starr will be the special guest referee for the Ball-Johnston bout.

Tickets for Fight for Tomorrow are $50, and are available at the Lonsdale Boxing Club. The cost includes admission, appetizers, supplied by Joe's Catering. The event will also be broadcast live on the Access Communications Access Now channel.
